Modern Rustic – Rogers Arkansas

We love antiques, so we were thrilled when these homeowners came to us with a number of antiques, they wanted to incorporate into the design of their home. However, the homeowners didn’t want their home to feel like a museum. Everything needed to be just as comfortable and practical as it was beautiful.

Function was the top priority. The design took into account the couple had young children, pets, an active lifestyle, and they love to entertain. We started with our signature airy neutral palette: Sherwin Williams’ Repose Gray walls, silver drop furniture tones, and hints of gold with rustic touches, like exposed wooden beams in the vaulted living room and a stacked-stone fireplace. This gave it an eclectic feel, so not everything was shiny and brand new.

The furnishings throughout the home were a mixture of old and new. In the dining room, an antique table and chairs were paired with a traditional light fixture and modern abstract painting. The kitchen was built for entertaining with an oversized island, modern lantern lights, and old-world French inspired gas range hood. And at the center of the living room is a large acrylic coffee table and bookcases filled with antique remnants and family photos. This mixture of old and new created a warm, cozy, and inviting feel that made the family feel at home and guests welcomed.
